In the Community

First Presbyterian Church serves the greater White County community in many ways:

  1. We pack backpacks of food for local needy school children on the weekend for White County Backpack Buddies, Inc.
  2. We serve at the local food pantry
  3. We volunteer our time at Caring and Sharing to help those in our community with whatever need they might have
  4. We open our church as a “warming center” during the coldest nights of the year.
  5. Our church facility is used to host groups such as Herion Anonymous, Narcotics
    Anonymous and Narconon, Rotary, Lions Club, Habitat for Humanity, etc.
  6. We serve on various organizations’ boards
  7. We mentor children in the school system
  8. We visit the elderly at local nursing homes
  9. We help build homes with Habitat for Humanity
